How It works

Generally, sites are created by me in the following fashion. I do deviate a bit from the norm when needs be, but this should give you a general idea.

Don't worry. I hold your hand all the way. If you don't have information, or really no clue what you want, I am here for you. I can help you evaluate your business and assist you with what I know will drive clientele to you through the Internet. I do web photography and can do alternative marketing if there is a need or want.

PRICING

The work I do is generally priced by quote. Larger sites that are custom built from the ground up are evaluated by time and given an estimate on final price. The general rule is $38 dollars an hour.

For example, a small site I created consisted of 4 pages, consulting, domain registration, and hosting for a year took 15 hours. The final price was $500.00.

The other end of the spectrum: a content management system was created for a site done by us - this type of work takes longer to do. I specially designed 34 different pages under one roof, creating a site consisting of roughly 40 pages. A contract for $5,000.00 was drawn that included the site, domain registration, hosting, and support for a year.

I also like to scuba dive, so I did create a scuba site for one week of diving.

For the work, time, and quality of my products, I am extremely inexpensive to the competition. I am willing to prove it by supplying you with information from competing companies.

Q n' A

Q: What is the turnaround time for a website?
A: An effective website should take 30-60 days to go live, from the start of production.

Q: What tools do you use to create a site?
A: For graphics, I use Adobe Photoshop and/or Imageready CS2. For web design, I use Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, and/or Zend Studio 5 - depending on your needs. If you use us for hosting, I run Apache ver. 1.3.36 on a Linux x86_64 machine.

Q: Do you take into consideration user interface issues?
A: User interface issues is my specialty! My approach to web design is a "Don't make me think" approach. A user on average spends 8 seconds on a site, and then goes elsewhere. With rigorous research and testing, I strive to create design that will keep them on your site.

Q: What about accessibility issues?
A: I am familiar with 508 compliancy and W3C standards. All sites are run through W3C, XHTML. and CSS validation.

Q: Will my site appear in Google and other Search Engines?
A: Every site is created in a fashion that supports Search Engine Optimization. My practice of usable and accessible web design makes any "Googlebot" out there feed on your site - allowing it to grab the content it needs for your site to place high on the search engines.
